FAQ

Can THOR be installed and still pass vehicle inspection?

Yes, passing the periodic inspection (shaken) shouldn't be a problem even with THOR installed.

The system is designed to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance during inspections.

Will installing THOR result in my car being treated as an accident vehicle (repaired vehicle)?

No, according to the definition set forth by the Automotive Fair Trade Council, a repaired vehicle refers to one whose frame, front cross member, front inside panel, pillar, dash panel, roof panel, room floor panel, or trunk floor panel has been repaired.

Therefore, THOR installation does not fall under this category.

However, please note that modifications made to the vehicle body may affect the appraisal evaluation when trading-in the vehicle.

How does THOR differ from other exhaust speakers on the market?

Unlike other systems which only simulate exhaust sounds based on engine RPM, THOR replicates the actual sound of the engine, including startup and shutdown sounds, and even simulates changes in pitch based on engine operation.

This level of realism makes THOR sound incredibly lifelike, allowing users to truly immerse themselves in the experience.

I've heard from someone that theirs broke after just a few months - is the product prone to breaking easily?

While it's true that water entering the speaker section may cause issues, proper handling, such as avoiding water entry during rain or car washes, should allow THOR to last for years, similar to regular audio speakers.

In the unlikely event of initial defects causing failure, we offer a one-year warranty period during which we'll replace the product free of charge.

Additionally, THOR is controlled via a smartphone app, but improper usage may result in unstable sound output.

Don't worry, we'll explain the correct usage during delivery.

Is it okay to buy the product alone and install it myself?

We do not recommend self-installation of THOR as it requires specialized technical expertise to synchronize with the vehicle's CAN signal, and incorrect installation may lead to malfunctions or accidents.

The CAN signal required for THOR involves finding the correct wire among numerous thin cables routed throughout the vehicle, which varies depending on the manufacturer and model, making it a challenging task even for professional technicians.

Can you install a THOR Electronic Exhaust System purchased from outside the THOR Tuning Japan group?

We do not install products purchased outside of the THOR Tuning Japan group.

Unfortunately, due to warranty agreements, we cannot provide support for products bought or installed outside of our channels, including those purchased through online auctions or other unauthorized channels.

Please note that THOR Tuning Japan group is the authorized distributor and supporter of THOR products in Japan.
